Black Caps all-rounder - debuts, history and learning from every experience.
On this episode of the show we're joined by one of the newest members of the Black Caps - someone who has had quite a 12 months. There’s been injuries, international debuts, plus a lot of learning and special memories during a year Rachin Ravindra told us he'll never forget.
Rachin spoke about what it's like when your name starts popping up on Cricinfo and social media at a young age, the injury he thought had derailed his year and the moment Gary Stead told him he'd been selected for his first international tour.
We talked about sharing the field with some of his heroes, batting in all conditions, helping Ajaz Patel make history, growing up while the Black Caps have consistently been one of the best sides in the world and how he'd like to see his role develop at the top level.
On this episode, we're joined by Black Caps' leg-spinner Ish Sodhi.
As well as re-living the final few moments of the first Test between NZ and India, we talk about matchups, head knocks, glue hands and big wickets as Ish looks back at a T20 World Cup campaign that took the Black Caps all the way to the final.
Naturally, with Baldy and Lippy on the call, the conversation turns to the art of spin bowling and Ish talks about what he learned from playing Test cricket at such an early stage in his career - and why he's keen to get back in the whites for the Black Caps.
We round out the show by discussing Ish's most recent role for the Rajasthan Royals and the magic of the IPL.
